This is the hackiest bit of the whole site.
It's a whole mess of shell and XML and business.

To facilitate more meaningful sorting in the feed, I also added knowledge of
another metadata field---<b>date</b>.  And another helper-file to keep track of
state.

I guess I'm getting close to the point where I need to write up the whole kit
and kaboodle, eh.
